Polyurethane sandwich panels are widely preferred in many industrial and commercial applications due to their excellent thermal insulation and durability. In the production of these panels, the continuous press system plays a critical role in enhancing product quality and production efficiency. This system ensures that the panels have a uniform and durable structure. The continuous pressing stage, which is a method used in sandwich panel manufacturing, involves the pressing of panel components in a continuous flow. This process ensures strong and permanent adhesion between the outer facings and the insulating core material, resulting in a structurally sound panel.

Stages of the Continuous Press System

The continuous press process generally consists of four main stages, each of which must be carefully managed:

  1. Preparation

  2. Layering

  3. Pressing

  4. Control

In the Preparation stage, the raw materials are pre-set and prepared for the continuous pressing process. The external cladding materials and the internal insulation materials are readied, and the foam is formulated and prepared to meet the required density and specifications. These materials are then layered in an orderly manner on the panel production line.

In the Layering stage, the external claddings, insulation core, and other intermediate layers are positioned in the correct sequence. Proper adhesion and alignment between layers are crucial at this point.

During the Pressing stage, the layered materials enter the pressing unit, where consistent heat and pressure are applied uniformly across the panel surfaces. The foam expands and is compressed during this stage, forming the core structure of the panel. The continuous pressing process ensures a steady production flow, increased production speed, and uniform quality.

After pressing, the panels enter the Cooling stage, where they retain their shape under controlled temperature and pressure. Once cooled, the panels are cut to the desired lengths and shaped accordingly.

Panels that reach their final form proceed to Quality Control, where surface quality, dimensions, and insulation performance are inspected. Panels that pass all quality checks are packaged and prepared for shipment.

Following the cutting stage, the panels pass through the cooling and packaging units to complete the production process.
